Workers' Compensation is a form of insurance that almost all employers are required to provide. Any injury or illness that arises out of and in the course of employment is generally covered. All cases are subject to the provisions of the Massachusetts Workers' Compensation statute, Mass. Gen Laws Chapter 152.

Any and all disputes concerning entitlements to benfits are resolved by the Department of Industrial Accidents which maintains offices in Boston, Lawrence, Fall River, Worcester and Springfield.

The types of benefits available are temporary total disability, temporary partial disability, permanent total disability, medical benefits, vocational rehabilitation, losses of bodily function and disfigurement as well as death benefits for injury related deaths.
